Abstract
Background and objectives: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in industrialized countries. High level of plasma lipids including cholesterol and triglycerides is one of the most important risk factors of atherosclerosis. Previous studies have shown that three members of the ATP-binding cassette, subfamily G (ABCG4, ABCG5 and ABCG8) are involved in transporting sterols across membranes. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of high-intensity resistance training (HIRT) and aerobic exercise (AE) on expression of the ABCG4, ABCG5 and ABCG8 genes in female athletes.
Methods: Twenty-four female athletes from the Khorasan Province (Iran) were randomly selected and assigned into three groups: control (N=8), AE (N=8) and HIRT (N=8). The subjects in the HIRT group and the AE group performed exercise at intensity of 75-80% of 1-repetion maximum and 75-80% of maximum heart rate, respectively. Blood samples were collected at baseline and immediately after the exercise session. After isolation of lymphocytes by centrifugation and purification of mRNA, gene expression changes were investigated by Real-Time-PCR. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and the Tukey's test.
Results: Both training protocols significantly increased the expression of ABCG4, ABCG5 and ABCG8 in the subjects (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in the expression of these genes between the experimental groups (P>0.05).
Conclusion: A single session of HIRT and AE may have beneficial effects on prevention of atherosclerosis.

Abstract
Background and objectives: Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) is a surgical procedure used to treat coronary heart disease. The present study aimed to investigate effects of 8 weeks of combined rehabilitation training on plasma levels of leptin, adiponectin, and resistin in middle-aged men who have undergone CABG.
Methods: The present research was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design. The statistical population included all patients who have undergone CABG in Mashhad, Iran. Overall, 26 middle-aged men who have undergone CABG were enrolled in the study. The subjects were divided into a training group (n=14) and a control group (n=12). Data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 21) using analysis of covariance and paired t-test at significance level of 0.05.
Results: Plasma levels of leptin did not change significantly (p=0.709), adiponectin increased significantly (p=0.001), and resistin decreased significantly (p=0.005) after the training intervention.
Conclusion: As a non-pharmacological intervention, the rehabilitation training has cardioprotective effects on patients who undergone CABG.

Abstract
Background: The surge of COVID-19 has weighed heavily on health-care systems and hospitals. Health-care workers are at high risk of exposure both in the community and workplace when providing care to patients. Quantitative assays to detect antibodies against SARS COV-2 help to determine individual antibody titer and in longitudinal monitoring of antibody response. The present study was undertaken as there is not much data available regarding the presence of SARS COV-2 antibodies among health care workers in Kerala. The objective was to estimate the IgG antibody response and to find out the associated factors in vaccinated health-care workers.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 187 vaccinated health- care workers. The blood sample was collected from health care workers and quantitative determination of humoral antibodies (Including IgG) was done by Chemiluminescence immunoassay. The antibody response was correlated with various factors. Analysis was done using the software IBM SPSS Version 25.
Results: The seroconversion rate following the Covishield vaccine was found to be 99.47% with mean, median, and standard deviation of antibody titer being 1291.0, 311.40 and 1792.500, respectively. Statistical significance in antibody titer was observed among different categories of health care workers and in those with previous COVID-19 infection. Higher titer was noted within 3 months of vaccination and thereafter waning of titer was seen which was also statistically significant.
Conclusion: No correlation was observed with age, gender, co-morbidities, area of work and Body Mass Index (BMI). Vaccination plays a major role in containing the infection. The immune response among vaccinated health-care workers was satisfactory.
